right guys i've decided to start a thread on my capri 1.6ls restoration.
the car belonged to my brother-in-law who owned it for 6 years and during that time it has had a few modifications.
2.8i half leather interor
2.8i fuel tank
single leaf rear springs
its on its 4th engine (1.6 original, 2.0ltr, 2.9 sierra, then back to 1.6 non original)
it has had battery relocated to the boot (to fit 2.9 engine)
lowered 2" on front
i have been involved in fitting all of these mods and grew quite an attachment to the car so when he emigrated earlier in the year he gave to me to do with as i see fit.
I have decide to give her a light restoration as im on a very tight budget working in a very tight space :(
here is what she looked like when i recived her
first thing was to start on rear end removing axle, fuel tank
then a good rust removal sesion ond waxoil
next came the axle
all the rear diff was cleaned internaly and new oil and brake shoes and a good clean and paint
i didnt realy take many pics after this but will get some more next time we have a nice day.
the other work done so far is
fuel tank cleaned and painted
prop shaft cleaned and painted
new brake pipes
new rear flexi pipe and rear anti roll bar bushes
new handbrake cable
all under side wax oyled
servo and master cylider removed and refurbed
all front suspention and brakes refurbed
front subframe cleaned and painted
however there is a small hole in floor pan and a small hole in rear wheel arch that still need welding
to be continued..........
