    You raise an interesting point. If replacement panels were still readily available it'd probably be achievable. As it is, most are unobtanium and the rest seem to have been stockpiled by well connected people and go for silly money. It'd be a case of finding a (probably non-existent) rust free shell, or learning to fabricate bits for myself... which is ridiculous

    Fix it up, get it back on the tarmac. But if you are not that way inclined then looking for a replacement motor with the same charm is your way forward. That's fine but be aware that you could, and probably will be buying someone's failed lash up.
    Better the devil you know.
    If you do get rid of it then do the decent thing and find it a good home.
