He had a "midlife crisis" so bought the Porker & then had a second crisis & bought a number plate that reads OP55 OFF.

It actually looks quite amusing on the car!

Thinking about it, his issue was raised by Porsche when he took it in to get the higher ampage cable fitted to the alternator. His was experiencing starting issues from hot & apparantly that's a known fault which is covered by warantee. He wasn't expecting it & had to loose the car for a fortnight (Merc/Jag diesel courtesy cars lol) but he was bloody glad they spotted it!

I've been for a spin in it a couple of times, one serious car!

They are a serious piece of kit. I never really got them until I drove one. I am smitten now. I am looking for my next one now

I am mid-life, but had my crisis a while back

I loved it. It felt like a £30k Go-Kart to drive, awesome interior but with the "no-frills-just-power" kind of drive that keeps your arse in the seat & hands on the wheel!

Only happens when you thrash them before you have warmed them up properly. Shows you the type of drive who owns it if it starts to smoke.
If mine goes I'll get a 4 litre big block in it instead.

Got a very important addition to the planned 3.2 V6 conversion the other week......

One F28 6 speed box minus it's Calibra Turbo!

The Calibra won't be emerging from my garage again until the Spring so time to collect more goodies as I go along. Flywheel & clutch next & at some point (of course) a Z32SE engine to bolt it all to!!

Are you doing the xe fly wheel? It think it weighs 5.5 kgs, but you may suffer when crawling in traffic. A bit juddery on the 6 cly cars. Have you got the blanking plate for the 4x4 output then?
They only thing I didn't like about my calibre a was the shell wasn't very rigid. This was evident when you jack the car up at the front and then tried to open a door the door would struggle to open then drop a little the cavalier had a stronger shell.

Can use the plate from the F25 to blank off the 4x4.

Will either be using XE or LET flywheel/clutch combination, will be fine with the V6 (drove a 3.0 with F8 just a few weeks back). Being that it's not a daily, I'm not that fussed about any potential "low speed" differences with the flywheel as it doesn't come out that often & when it does it gets a bloody good "hooning" lol!

Just had a catch up on this thread - nice work

It's funny that you're doing all the mods that you wanted to do when you were a teenager... I was the same as a teenager with 106's and Golfs, but all I seem to do now is try and convert the previously modified ones back to standard

    Cheers.

    Here's some slightly better pics,

Had a few mates, back in the day, who'd spend every penny they earned on their cars (we're talking Ford Orion Ghia's, RS Turbo's, R5 GT Turbo's etc then lol). Unfortunately I spent every penny I earned down the pub so had to wait several years until I could relive the 'Boy Racer' days & do it with a car which I never would've afforded back then.
